Dr Juliet Mills - owner

Juliet has been a qualified vet for over 20 years and has helped animals across Australia and the UK. She has been in Bayside since 2010 and is wholly committed to her clinic and her furry patients— she even has a tradition of kissing them all on the head when they arrive!

Juliet graduated from Murdoch University in Perth and has seen hundreds of thousands of animals throughout her career, which began in dairy practice. She is an experienced soft tissue surgeon and gifted diagnostician, who is passionate about giving your pet the best possible quality of life.

When she is not in clinic, Juliet is usually found somewhere in Bayside with her two young boys and kicking the football for her 3 legged greyhound, Gypsy. After losing Ernie in the picture to cancer the family is now the doting owner of a Burmese called Luna.

Dr Damian McShane

Damian will be known to many of the Black Rock clients as he worked at, then owned, the Black Rock Animal Hospital from 1995 to 2012, when Juliet took over the practice.  He was part-owner of a large and successful practice in East Bentleigh. He always felt that Juliet provided a fantastic level of care to her clients and patients at Black Rock, so as he is working less hours now he has opted to do this at Black Rock.

He has experience with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions and procedures, so while not needed on the surgery front at BRAH he can give you great advice navigating you through difficult and complex conditions and solutions.  He is staying fit and healthy as he approaches his sixties, still playing hockey, Crossfit, and seeing wide-ranging theatre and music now that the kids are grown and left the nest.  He will not always be available (due to enjoying his semi-retirement and travel), but we hope he will stay in this role for years to come.
