PET CONSULTATION AND EXAMINATIONS

Every appointment begins with a consultation, which includes a complete examination.

We know some animals (and people!) can become anxious here, so we always take our time and examine them in a calm and comforting way to ease the stress on both you and your pet. Whatever the issue might be, we listen carefully to your concerns so we can understand all the reasons for your visit and move forward with the best care plan for your pet.

OUR SERVICES:

ALL ILLNESS’S AND AILMENTS

During a consultation we will get a thorough history, examine your pet as calmly and gently as possible and then we will discuss in length treatment options so you can make an informed decision on how you would like to proceed to get your pet back to full health.

  • Skin and ears – we do in-house cytology to ensure infections are treated appropriately and will discuss and treat any underlying allergic component to your animal’s skin and ear condition.

  • Lameness – When an examination of your pet doesn’t give us enough information to diagnose a lameness and we need to investigate further we may recommend taking x-rays.  We have digital x-ray which is the latest technology of x-ray machine. In some cases, we may need to sedate or use a general anaesthetic to get nice clear x-rays. Once a diagnosis is confirmed we have the facilities to do orthopaedic surgery but will give you all the options for you to consider so we can ensure your pet gets the best treatment.

  • Feeling Unwell – if your pet is unwell we have all the means to diagnose and treat your pet. With examination, pathology, ultrasound, x-ray, medications and IV fluid machines your pet will get the best care available.

  • Dental conditions – we have all the latest equipment including a scaler and polisher, drill and a very amazing digital dental x-ray machine. This allows us to ensure we identify all problem teeth and only extract teeth when it is indicated.
