Karen has been with us at Black Rock Animal Hospital since June 2013. She has always had a love of animals and after careers in hospitality, floristry and pharmacy she found her calling as a veterinary nurse. Karen completed her veterinary nursing qualification in 2004.
As well as their two gorgeous kids, Karen and her husband Greg have 2 cats named Zoey and Maddie and are often looking after dogs of all shapes and sizes for friends and family.

In her spare time she is kept busy with 2 teenagers and a furry family of 3 dogs, 2 cats and an ex racehorse. She is also a foster carer for Pawfect Pals Animal Rescue and is an avid advocate for adopting a rescue pet.

She has completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies and is currently studying for her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Katie has previously volunteered for the RSPCA, and has worked with other shelters fostering and rehoming kittens since 2013.
She lives with her two cats, Tess and Valerie (both foster fails!), and husband Jim.

She has a rescue cat named Coco and enjoys spending time with family and friends in her spare time.
Lesley joined the Black Rock Team at the beginning of 2021. Working in animal hospitals has been a recent career change for Lesley, as she previously worked in finance, having moved here from the UK in 2003.
Lesley has always lived with cats and dogs and has owned several of both in addition to fish, guinea pigs and horses. She is the current doting owner of Peter a brown Labrador and Laura a Dachshund, 2 cats called Steve and Violet and lives with her long suffering husband and their 2 teenage children who are also animal mad. In her spare time, Lesley is a netball coach and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Read MoreJane joined the team at Black Rock Animal Hospital late in 2022, returning to work after a year of maternity leave. Having been working as a veterinary nurse for over 10 years Jane brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive experience to the team.
Jane enjoys being hands on with both patients and clients and always has a hug ready for anyone in need. She has a special interest in wildlife and all baby animals. Jane lives with her husband, young son and one obsessively maintained fish tank. In her spare time Jane enjoys reading and board games.

At home Jacinta has two family rescue dogs Snoop and Stormi and a bearded dragon named Neto.
When she is not caring for animals, Jacinta enjoys playing competitive netball, going to music festivals, and keeping fit.
